Vitamin B12 is only found in animal food sources including:

  • Beef
  • Liver
  • Kidney
  • Eggs
  • Salmon
  • Milk and dairy products
  • Fortified food products

Deficiency of Vitamin B12 causes anemia and neurologic abnormalities (loss of vibration sense in toes or ankles, painful nerve pain of hands and legs), inflammation of tongue, weight loss, mental changes. It is rare in the US.
